This photograph shows a summer view form the Col de la Croix, near Villars in Switzerland. The imposing mountain on the left is the Culan, and on the right of the picture is the beautiful protected site of Taveyanne. The clouds indicate an approaching storm.

The Col de la Croix, linking Villars with the town of Les Diablerets, is one of the most spectacular of Switzerland's many mountain passes. It has frequently been used in the Alpine stages of the Tour de France.
